Beverly Patton

Beverly Sue (Herd) Patton was born in Greeley, Colorado on Friday, February 23, 1940, to Henry and Georgia (Foster) Herd. She passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 82 She was the middle child of three born to the Herd family. Her father was in the U.S. Navy. After he completed that service, he became a carpenter. He moved his young family from Colorado to Stroud, Oklahoma when Beverly was small. Her mother had a career in banking. Beverly was active in school, playing basketball in high school. At the age of 12, she made a life changing decision to follow Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her faith was always important to her and saw her through her entire life. She often found opportunities to mentor and encourage young girls, new moms or other women who were struggling. Beverly had a strong work ethic passed down from the women in her family. While raising her three children she worked many years in the insurance industry. She provided a comfortable home by sewing, cooking, gardening, and canning for her family. Beverly was the epitome of grace and took great care to always present herself appropriately for any occasion; she valued proper dress and etiquette in herself and others. In 1995, she married Stroud classmate Darrell Patton on January 10 of that year. They were happily married for 25 years until his passing in 2020. She loved the beach, especially Gulf Shores, Alabama, where she and Darrell developed cherished friendships with other snowbirds over the years. She loved her children, but adored her grandchildren, who called her “Nanny”. Beverly loved giving gifts to them. She was confident, industrious, thoughtful, and loving. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory are Daughter, Sherri Vaughan, and husband Rick of Broken Arrow Son, Pete Kalka, and wife Mary of Cushing Daughter, Robin Brown and husband, Stan of Claremore 7 Grandchildren: Seth, David, Emma, Megan, Ruger, Rachael, and Ryan 7 Great Grandchildren: Adyson, Remi, Ella, Olivia, Penny, Noah, and Lily As well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Those who preceded her in death are her parents: Henry and Georgia Herd, her husband: Darrell Patton and her grandson: Trey.
