Barbara L. "Bobbi" Killian

A funeral service for Barbara L. “Bobbi” Killian has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Aspen Creek Assembly, 5100 S. Aspen Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with family there to receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Barbara Lee “Bobbi” Killian was born in Albany, California on Friday, September 24, 1943 to Joe and Veda Mae (Eatherly) Tomlinson. Bobbi passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 73 years of age. Bobbi and her family moved to Broken Arrow in 1953. She graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1961 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English from the University of Tulsa. She began her career in journalism, working at the Broken Arrow Ledger for several years. Bobbi later went on to work 31 years at Arrow Exterminators as the Assistant Secretary in Corporation. On June 23, 1962 Bobbi married Roy Dean Killian at The Assembly on Main Street in Broken Arrow. Their union was blessed with four children. Bobbi was a special person and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. Bobbi was an avid reader and also enjoyed crocheting. She was a big Star Trek fan and attended the Trekkie conventions for 25 years. Barbara was a devoted and active member of Aspen Creek Assembly in Broken Arrow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aspen Creek Assembly, 5100 S. Aspen Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74011. Bobbi is survived by, Children, Regina Hicks and husband Len, Broken Arrow, OK Rhonda Mecher and husband Darin, Las Vegas, NV Roy Dwayne Killian, Broken Arrow, OK Ryan Killian and Maurene Gros, Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren, Jamie and Chris, Kayla and Greg, Brittania and Alex, Stephanie and Dillon, Tasha and Al, Maria and Daniel, Brendan Great Grandchildren, Vincent, Abigail and 2 grandchildren on the way Sister, Phyllis Sheppard, Broken Arrow, OK Brothers, Claude Ray Abbott and wife Connie Ronnie Abbott, Tulsa, OK Numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Bobbi was preceded in death by her father Joe Tomlinson, mother Veda Mae Abbott, stepfather Claud Abbott, husband Roy Dean Killian, and grandson, Ryan James Killian.
