Albert “Bill” Capps, 90, of Welty, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family. He was born on March 21, 1936, in Vian, Oklahoma. With a full heart and a life well lived, Bill is now reunited with his parents, Ethel and Joe Capps, and his siblings J.C., Jerry, Frank, Vilene, Johnny, and Jimmy. He is survived by his baby brother, Donald Ray. Bill shared a lifetime of love with his wife, Wynema Lou, whom he married on August 24, 1962. For 63 years, they stood side by side, building a family grounded in love, strength, and unwavering commitment. He leaves behind his children, Gerald, Kimberly, Melanie, and Natalie, and six grandsons who proudly knew him as both “Grandpa” and “Bill”—each one holding a special place in his heart. Bill was a man of quiet strength—soft spoken, steady, and strong in his own way. He could be stubborn when he believed in something, but that same determination was what carried him through a lifetime of hard work and devotion to his family. He had a way of lightening moments with a funny saying, often simple but unforgettable, leaving those around him smiling long after. He graduated from Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma and went on to earn his master’s degree in education and industrial arts from Northeastern State University Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Teaching was more than a profession—it was part of who he was. Beginning in 1961, he spent 35 years shaping young lives, first in wood shop class and later in middle school math. He also coached football and softball teams, leading them to many league championships. Whether in the classroom or on the field, he poured his time, patience, and heart into those he guided, teaching not just skills, but character, discipline, and perseverance. The lessons he taught will carry on for generations. Outside of work, Bill found joy in the outdoors & working the land. He was an avid quail and pheasant hunter and loved spending time fishing—moments where he could slow down, enjoy nature. After years of farming almond orchards in California’s Central Valley, he fulfilled a lifelong dream in retirement by ranching—raising Limousin and Angus cattle in Welty, Oklahoma. He took pride in early mornings, honest work, and the life he built with his own hands. To his family, Bill was everything—a provider, a teacher, a coach, and a protector. His love was not always spoken, but it was steady, dependable, and deeply felt in every sacrifice he made and every quiet moment he gave. It showed in the life he built, the sacrifices he made, and the quiet way he cared for those around him. He will be remembered for his strength, his stubborn spirit, his gentle voice, and the sayings that will echo in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy lives on in his family and in the many lives he touched—both in the classroom, on the field, and beyond. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
