Tom W. Harrold

Tom passed away in his home on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Oologah, Oklahoma at 65 years of age. Tom was born on November 15, 1951 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Bob Winston and Pearl Grace (Hawkins) Harrold. Throughout his life, Tom was a pillar of his church and his community. An elder and leader for 25 years at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Broken Arrow, he lived to spread the love of God to all those around him. Tom was married to his high school sweetheart and they raised their three children in the place he loved most, on the farm, just a few miles from where his dad was raised. Universally loved, he will always be remembered as one of the most genuine, caring and truly humble men anyone had the pleasure of knowing. Tom graduated from Blackwell High School, after being the Maroon Spirit for the class of 1970, and Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Geology. Tom married the love of his life, Jeannie Bush on August 20, 1972 in his hometown of Blackwell, Oklahoma. Tom and Jeannie were married for 44 wonderful years and were blessed with three children and five grandchildren. Tom was a wonderful husband, father and Papa who relished his time with family. An avid outdoorsman, Tom could always be found working on his land and livestock, or fishing on his pond, often times with his grandchildren in tow. Tom was a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a Certified Petroleum Geophysicist. He was a longstanding member and/or officer in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Geophysical Society of Tulsa, and the Tulsa Geological Society. Tom worked throughout his life as a Geophysicist for several Oklahoma based petroleum exploration companies, most recently being Eagle Energy Exploration in Tulsa. He served one term on the Oologah Public School Board. A Memorial Service honoring the life of Tom Harrold will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 400 N. Aspen Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Friends of Tom may visit Hayhurst Funeral Home, 1660 S. Elm Pl., Broken Arrow for viewing on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy, 400 N. Aspen Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74012. Tom is survived by his wife Jeannie , his children; daughter Kristen and her husband Garrett, daughter Robin, son Joshua and wife Alee, and his 5 precious grandchildren; Stephen, Samuel, Rosemary, Spencer, and Gage. Tom is also survived by his siblings; Gary and wife Barbara, Rick and wife Marquetta, sister Brenda and husband Tim McCord and dozens of loving nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
