Sue V. Evans

Sue Vilois Evans, passed from this life on January 31, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born to Helen L. and L.W. Crosley on June 28, 1939 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, Ronald Evans, her infant son, Charles Evans, her parents and her brothers, Harold Crosley, Sr. and Richard "Dick" Crosley & sister-in-law Aileen Crosley. Survivors include: brother-in-law Charles "Bud" and wife Joyce Evans of Tulsa, OK; son, Mark (Kathy) Evans of Oklahoma City, OK and their children Zachary (Jammy) Evans of Leawood, KS, and Rachel Evans of Denton, TX; daughter Trace' (Gerry) Robinson of Stephenville, TX and their children: Liz (Gardner) Bell and daughter, Claire of Birmingham, AL and Reese (Kristen) Robinson of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter, Wendy (Greg) Brooks of Tulsa, OK and their sons, Stephen Brooks of Tulsa, OK and Evan Brooks of Huntington Beach, CA; son, Mitchell (Brenda) Evans and son, Duncan of Leesburg, VA. Sue was raised in Guthrie, OK and moved to Oklahoma City as a child. She graduated from Northeast High School and was a singer and musician. Sue was vivacious and outgoing and won the "Miss Hello" designation in high school. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University, majoring in music. Sue was unceasingly involved in church; a longtime member, soloist and church organist at Exchange Ave. Baptist Church in OKC. She moved to Tulsa in recent years and joined the Oasis Sunday School class of First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow. She performed as a member of the Singing Churchwomen of OK as well, an organization she traveled with throughout the U.S. and abroad. Sue always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. Her friendly, warm personality was infectious, and she was invariably one to offer a word of cheery encouragement to others. She was a tireless worker and held many positions over the years including telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and Deaconess Hospital; retail salesperson for Foley's and Macy's department stores. For over 40 years, she devoted her life and energy to her husband Ron, and his accounting firm, Ronald C. Evans, C.P.A. in OKC. She served an integral role as his secretary and assistant in every area of the business. Sue spent the last years of her life at Brookdale Broken Arrow, Clare Bridge residence, where she was well taken care of by her family and the staff. The family wishes heartfelt thanks to the faithful associates at Clare Bridge along with the nurses, other personnel from Rose Rock Hospice for all the care and affection shown to Sue during her time with them. A celebration of her life will be held at Hayhurst Funeral Home, 1660 S Elm Pl, Broken Arrow, OK 74012 on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 10:00 am followed by a grave side internment at 2:30 pm at \Resthaven Cemetery located at 500 SW 104th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
