Robert "Bob" Kirk

Robert “Bob” Kirk, 90, of Broken Arrow, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018. A funeral service honoring His life will be held Monday, November 5 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Park Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit Bob at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 pm till 8:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Bob was born Thursday, December 15, 1927 in Broken Arrow, OK to William and Mary (McAnally) Kirk. He married the love of his life, Earldine Bickel in Tulsa, OK on June 21, 1947 and their union was blessed with 5 children. Daughter Dallas and sons Scott, Brian, Kevin, and Rob. Bob served is country in the United States Navy during World War II as a medic and as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He was always known for his athleticism excelling in boxing, football, polo, and was a scratch golfer. During his time playing for the Marine Corp. football team, he was offered a contract to play for the Los Angeles Rams after playing in an exhibition against the Rams. He reluctantly turned the offer down when he found out he would have to fly to games. He was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. He also contributed to his community through sports serving as a Golf Marshall at Forest Ridge, a baseball umpire in the area, and supporting Broken Arrow High School athletics every chance he got. He was also an avid storyteller. Survivors include: Daughter Dallas Lewis and husband Tony, Broken Arrow, OK Sons Scott Kirk, Tulsa, OK Brian Kirk and wife Terri, Liberty, Missouri Kevin Kirk, Broken Arrow, OK Rob Kirk and wife Lisa, Bixby, OK Grandchildren Andy Thorn, Broken Arrow, OK Tony Thorn, Springfield, MO Amanda Kirk, Dallas, TX Ryan Kirk, Edmond, OK Justin Kirk, Nashville, TN Payton Kirk, Liberty, MO Piper Kirk, Liberty, MO Rachael McCullough, Ft. Mill, SC Travis Kirk, Olive Branch, MS Gentry Kirk, Bixby, OK Jolie Kirk, Bixby, OK Bob is predeceased by: Wife Deanne Kirk Infant Daughter Deborah Kirk Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Claremore Veterans Affairs Center at 3001 West Blue Starr Drive, Claremore, OK 74017.
