Helen Heimbach

Helen Alma Heimbach, age 92, went to be with the Lord on December 24th, 2018 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was surrounded in love by her children and grandchildren. Helen was born March 13th, 1926 in Salamanca, NY to Helen and Alfred Robison. Helen married Lewis L. Heimbach on June 26th, 1946 and they lived in Limestone, NY. She was a homemaker for many years to her husband Louie of 67 years, and their 7 children. When her youngest child started school, she went to work part time in the Limestone, NY school cafeteria. After a couple of years, she left the cafeteria job and went to work at Corning Glass in Bradford, PA. She retired from there in 1985 to take care of her mother. She loved to knit and crochet beautiful afghans, sweaters, mittens and hats. She also loved gardening and canning. While working she always found time to sew her daughter’s roller skating outfits and cheerleading uniforms. Helen and Louie were members of a square-dancing club and cherished their time together. They spent summers camping and boating with their children, friends and family as well as snowmobiling in the winters. After retirement, Helen and Louie enjoyed traveling throughout the United States on numerous bus tours. They moved to Broken Arrow, OK in 1995 to live close to all their children and grandchildren. Helen went into assisted living in Broken Arrow, February of 2017. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Helen Robison, sister, Lucile Gibson, brother, Willis Robison, husband, Lewis (Louie) Heimbach and her daughter, Sandy Heimbach-Milks. Helen is survived by her children, Al (Sandi) Heimbach of Broken Arrow, Ted (Cindy) Heimbach of Broken Arrow, Craig (Karen) Heimbach of Kansas, OK, Susan Heimbach-Voigt of Broken Arrow, Dave (Teresa) Heimbach of Broken Arrow and Gary (Kathy) Heimbach of Broken Arrow. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Terri, Eric, Jill, Karla, Teddy Jr., Chad, Jason, Angela, Jacob, Brian, Tim, Jay, Keerston, Shalane, Gary Jr and Grant. Her great-grandchildren, Richard, Brayden, Abigail, Natalie, Alexis, Adriana, Nina, Yairah, Hadassah, Gavin, Callie, Noah, Jaxson, Elliott, Annabel, Adeline, Kyla, Landon, Elyssa, Micah, Dwight, Christian, Caleb, Emma, Colton, Mason, Addicyn, Brynlee, Taylor, Lainee, Tristan, Marley, and Will. Her great-great-grandchildren, Kylan and Avia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26th from 6-8pm at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. A private family internment will follow at Park Grove Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Helen Heimbach to the American Diabetes Association.
