Gregory Kitch

Gregory Neil Kitch of Broken Arrow, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the age of 70. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel Saturday October 16, 2021 at 11:00am. Greg was born Friday, August 31, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri to Glenn and Margaret (Whinery) Kitch. He grew up in Kansas; graduated from Nickerson High School, and attended Friends University majoring in music. Life brought Greg to Oklahoma and his love for music led him to the church choir at First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow where he would meet and marry his best friend, Leah. Greg was always on the go, he never liked to sit still for too long. When not working or volunteering, he loved camping; cruising; and traveling to new places, especially if it involved somewhere warm and a beach. Greg had a heart for people and was always putting others before himself. If you were his friend, you were a lifelong friend, no matter how long since you last spoke; you could pick up right where you left off. He volunteered for the Red Cross and was a member of the Oklahoma Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. Greg had a special touch with arranging and preparing meals for those in need. He was even recognized with a letter of accommodation for his brave actions of rescuing a lady from her burning home in their neighborhood while on his way to work. Perhaps Greg’s greatest joy in life came from his family, especially the grandkids. He loved spending time with each of his kids and their families, going to the grandkid’s sporting events, gathering all together for the holidays. He was a joy in our lives and will be missed every day until we are reunited with him in Heaven. We all know he’s singing and praising The Lord with the biggest smile on his face and like to think that he now gets to help paint the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets The Lord creates. Survivors include: Wife Leah Kitch of the home Son Christopher Kitch and fiancée Lindsay of Belton, Missouri Daughters Amanda Crump and husband Nathan of Bentonville, Arkansas Nicole Zugelder and husband Bryan of Catoosa Sara Baker and husband Greg of Kansas City, Kansas Grandchildren Corban, Kale, Rylie-Jo, Dakota, and Aspen He is predeceased by: Parents Glenn and Margaret Kitch
