Elizabeth "Beth" Maxey

Elizabeth Dawn Maxey—Beth—was born January 26, 1968, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Beth passed from this life on October 13, 2024, at Franciscan Villa, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where she was a resident in assisted living. Beth was predeceased by her grandparents, Archie and Cecile Sipe, and Maurice and Stella Maxey; and by her beloved niece, Jennifer Nicole Chambers James. Beth is survived by her loving family: parents, Bob and Brenda Sipe Maxey; her sister, Janet Maxey Chambers and husband David; her brother, Christopher Maxey and wife, Monica; nephew David Robert Chambers and wife Kristin; niece Rachel Maxey; and two great nephews and four great nieces. Beth was a retired radiology technician who loved and enjoyed her work as long as she was able to work. Beth graduated from Union High School in 1986 where she was very active in marching band, the Renegade Regiment, where she played clarinet. During high school she also worked at McDonald’s, maintaining her high grades and graduating 14th in a class of over 600 students. After high school she attended OSU for two years and then obtained her radiology technician degree at Tulsa Community College and later was certified in magnetic resonance imaging. She worked as an X-Ray and MRI tech at St. Francis in Tulsa, at the Ardmore hospital, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, and before gaining her radiology tech certification she spent a couple of years in Dallas, Texas, at Baylor University Hospital. Her ambition always was to work in the medical field. Beth loved spending time with her family; she was family famous for wearing her fun deer antlers at Christmas and rabbit ears at Easter. Her hobbies were playing video games, and reading; additionally, she was a cat lover and as a result managed to rescue and collect several cats in her lifetime. She was also family famous for her green bean casserole at every family dinner—each time she “doctored” the recipe however she felt at the time, and it was always great, never any left over. As long as she was able, Beth was an active and loving aunt to her nieces and nephew. She will always be so missed by those who loved her deeply. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
