Dr. Donald Hahn

Donald Wayne Hahn was born in French Camp, California on Wednesday, June 4, 1941, to Lawrence and Annabelle (Weaver) Hahn. He passed from this life to his eternal home in heaven on Friday, July 29, 2022, at his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 81 surrounded by his wife and children. Don was the second of five children born to the Hahn family. His father died in a trucking accident when Don was only seven. Shortly after, his mother and siblings moved to Oklahoma to be near her family. He attended Tahlequah High School and played tuba in the marching band. They specialized in a maneuver known as the “rotating T”. He graduated from there in 1958. After high school, Don joined the U.S. Navy and served twenty years from 1958-1978. After his time of active duty, he returned home and enrolled at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received his D.O. Degree. “Dr. Don” was primarily an Emergency Room Physician at various hospitals and the last decade of practice he worked for Ascension Medical Group of St. John Hospital. He became the father to eight children, seven sons and one daughter. Don was very involved in his children’s lives, coaching both baseball and football, camp doctor for Cub and Boy Scout summer camps, and was supportive of all his children’s activities. He seemed to have the winning strategy in building pinewood derby cars and shared his wisdom with his sons who used it to win many races through the years. During football season he would set up a makeshift clinic at the back of his Suburban to give sports physicals to boys who couldn’t afford them. He taught Sunday School and served along with his wife, Jane, on the baptism team at Battlecreek Church in Broken Arrow. In his free time, Don enjoyed fishing, reading, westerns on TV, comedy movies, and golf. He carried spare golf balls in his front pockets as he knew he would be needing replacements before the round was completed. He was a long-time member of both the American Medical Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Jane, of the home in Broken Arrow Son, Daniel Hahn of Owasso Son, Michael Hahn and his wife, Brenda of Owasso Son, Donald Hahn and his wife, Kathryn Santine of Tulsa Son, Mike Duckworth and his wife, Shelly of Sapulpa Daughter, Donna Bevenue and her husband, Chris of Frisco, Texas Son, Andrew Hahn and his wife, Kenzie Owen of Cleveland Son, Derek Hahn and his wife, Carly Mezier-Hahn of Oklahoma City 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren Sister, Janet Purvis of Conroe, Texas Sister, Carolyn Gutierrez and her husband, Jim of Claremore He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Annabelle; Sister, Norma Duckworth; Brother, Larry Hahn; Son, Brian Hahn; Daughter-in-Law, Stephanie Hahn; and Granddaughter, Tabitha Duckworth.
