Cherrie D. Lenz

A celebration of the life of Cherrie Diane Lenz will be held at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church (100 N. Olive Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74012) on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Cherrie was born on Friday, January 13, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to James and Shirley (Thompson) Bennett. Cherrie passed away in Medford, Oklahoma on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 68. Cherrie was the oldest of three children, and graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, IN. In 1982 Cherrie and her family relocated from Warsaw, IN to their new home in Broken Arrow, OK. While Cherrie was primarily a stay at home mom, she also remained extremely active in the Broken Arrow and Tulsa communities. Cherrie was always willing to help, give back, and volunteer. Cherrie took on additional roles in the church, PTA, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Meals on Wheels, and even served as an Assistant Soccer Coach. Outside the house Cherrie owned her own business, worked as an Office Manager at Briarglen Veterinarian Clinic, and was a School Secretary at St. Andres’s Episcopal in Amarillo, TX. Cherrie loved traveling with her lifelong friends, and always made time for a “Girl’s Trip.” Cherrie also loved vacationing and spending time with family in Keystone and Breckenridge, CO. Cherrie was a wonderful mother and granny. She adored her family and loved spending time with her 7 grandchildren. Cherrie loved to cheer on the kids and grandchildren at their sporting events, theatrical presentations, and extra-curricular activities. Cherrie also enjoyed antiquing, craft shows, interior design, and all of her animals. Cherrie was a nurturing soul who loved catching up, and spending time with family and friends. She happiest with a full house of loved ones, friends, family and her dogs and cats. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Tulsa Chapter, 2448 E. 81st St., Tulsa, OK 74137. Cherrie is survived by, Children, Cort Lenz and wife Kaci, Broken Arrow, OK Jenny Bailey and husband Rodney, Fort Worth, TX Grandchildren, Coleman Bailey, Fort Worth, TX Austin Bailey, Fort Worth, TX Cooper Bailey, Fort Worth, TX Holden Lenz, Broken Arrow, OK November Lenz, Broken Arrow, OK Ryder Lenz, Broken Arrow, OK Tyler Lenz, Broken Arrow, OK Brother, Kim Bennett, Fort Wayne, IN Sister, Tonyia Bennett, Wolcott, IN Cherrie was preceded in death by her parents.
