Argle James “A.J.” Jackson was born on Tuesday, February 1, 1938 in West Fork, Arkansas the son of William C. and Callie M. (Pennington) Jackson. He passed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was 84 years of age. AJ moved with his family from Arkansas to Oklahoma when he was 5 years old. He attended Jenks, Bixby and Broken Arrow Schools, where he played the Tuba in the Band. He met the love of his life, the former Miss Lillie M. Benedict at school in Broken Arrow. They were married on December 23, 1955 in Miami, Oklahoma. AJ and Lillie “grew up” together as they started their family. They lived their entire married life in Broken Arrow. AJ worked in Construction and retired as an electrician from his family business, Triple J Electric. He loved race horses and his favorite horse was Lucky King Pin. At Lucky’s biggest winning race, he came out of gate 8 and AJ entered Heaven’s gates on September 8. During his retirement, he enjoyed working on antique cars and tractors. His past time was spent watching old western TV shows and quarter horse racing. AJ was quite the storyteller, he could make rhymes and tell jokes like no other. AJ started every day by talking to his boys, asking what they are doing that day and where they would be going. He always wanted to keep up with their work schedule.
